First Woman Ruler of India – Razia Sultana (1205–1240)
• She was the first and only woman to rule the Delhi Sultanate.
2. First Woman Freedom Fighter – Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi (1828–1858)
• She played a crucial role in the 1857 Revolt against British rule.
3. First Female Teacher & Social Reformer – Savitribai Phule (1831–1897)
• She established the first school for girls in India.
4. First Woman President of the Indian National Congress – Annie Besant (1917)
• She was also a leader in India’s freedom struggle.
5. First Indian Woman President of INC – Sarojini Naidu (1925)
6. First Woman Governor of India – Sarojini Naidu (1947, United Provinces, now Uttar Pradesh)
7. First Woman Prime Minister of India – Indira Gandhi (1966–1977, 1980–1984)
8. First Woman President of India – Pratibha Patil (2007–2012)
